Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) is pleased to announce the Call for Participation (CFP) for PTC’20: Vision 2020 and Beyond, 19-22 January 2020.
The PTC Program Committee describes PTC’20: Vision 2020 and Beyond as focusing on “what otherwise would be a blur of disruptive technologies, emerging applications, shifting regulatory policies, dynamically-changing cultural norms, and new business models.”
PTC invites proposals on forward-looking views and implications on a broad range of topics that represent the breadth and depth of the industry, including applications, technology, and policy issues for network-centric or network-enabled products, services, and uses. Check out the CFP for a complete list of topics.
What’s new this year you ask?
- PTC HUB Presentations. Can you provide a succinct tutorial on a timely topic? Want to provide your perspective on a forward-thinking issue, or highlight the key results of your research to a broader audience beyond a session panel? If so, the PTC HUB is where you want to be! The PTC HUB will be the central gathering place of the conference and a great opportunity to have your say in brief and lively 10-minute presentations, or interactive sessions on a variety of timely and hot-button issues.
- Cross-discipline/Cross-sector Sessions. PTC is looking to build bridges of cross-interests. Does your proposal fit with other sectors and topics of the industry? Would you like to be included in a session that incorporates others from multiple disciplines of the industry discussing a similar topic? If you answered yes, PTC welcomes proposals on how developments or functions interact across ecosystems to create value and how changes contribute to use cases: applications, business and revenue models, economic or social/citizen outcomes. Proposals can be from the perspective of a particular discipline to be included in a cross-discipline session or a proposal addressing multiple sectors on a specific topic.
In addition to the two new proposal options listed above, the conference program incorporates a variety of formats including presentations, interviews, and moderated discussion panels. Proposals can be submitted for participation in a topical session, workshop, or tutorial, as well as a “managed” session where the proposer suggests the panelists.
Industry executives, business strategists, financial analysts, technologists, innovators, policy makers, regulatory and legal experts, and consultants are invited to submit a proposal for inclusion in the program. The deadline to submit a proposal is 12 July 2019.
Academics and researchers are invited to submit an abstract for inclusion of a research paper by 12 July 2019, and students may submit full papers by 15 September 2019 for consideration on topics relevant to the PTC’20 conference program. PTC’s Research Committee will be organizing sessions around relevant topics. Accepted research papers are also eligible for PTC’s Research Awards, the Meheroo Jussawalla Research Award and the Yale M. Braunstein Student Award.
