5G/6G, artificial brains, augmented reality, DNA-based digital storage, machine vision, quantum computing, virtual reality, SDx, smart grids, agri-drones, agri-robots, AI/ML/RPA, IoT, 3D printing, etc., will revolutionize the ICT industry.
How can telecommunications technologies help humanity?
Telecommunications has the potential to connect every single human being on earth and provide them the ability to communicate with one another. More than ever, during the COVID-19 pandemic, telecommunications has played a key role in enabling work-from-home (WFH), telemedicine, online meetings, contactless online shopping, and virtual (audio/video) meetings between families living away from one another seamlessly. Deployment of OFC, wireless, and DSL in rural/urban areas enable access to the Internet wherever these technologies are deployed, thus enabling a digital society, digital governments, digital payments, digital healthcare, digital entertainment, drone-based transportation, and IoT among others. Telecommunications will continue to change the way we live.
Is it important for companies to continue to innovate their organization or offerings, and why?
As correctly said by Christopher Freem “… not to innovate is to die.” Innovation is the key to establishing technology and market leadership, while also delivering high industry growth rates and enviable return to shareholders. The world has witnessed innovations in the form of electricity, ships, airplanes, cars, telephones, television, personal computers, software, Internet, mobile phones, smart phones, mobile apps, cloud, etc., and all of them have revolutionized society, industries, and played a key role in shaping world economies and trade. Innovation is the only constant and will be an integral part of business and commerce.

What advice would you share with current and future graduates interested in this field?
My advice to the young graduates would be to focus on developing new ideas that can transform our society and play a key role in elevating humanity or eliminating human problems uniquely and in an affordable manner.
What has been a positive outcome organizationally or individually given the current state of the world?
The COVID-19 pandemic has helped us accelerate our work-from-home initiative. Today, 95% of our workforce operates from home helping them achieve work-life balance as it eliminates both travel time and exhaustion. Our employee productivity has risen by over 75%, while also realizing our administrative and operating costs have been reduced by more than 68%, improving the bottom line. It has been encouraging to note that while we have been operating through the WFH model, our customer NPS stands at 70.
