I simply think it is 5G technology. 5G is being discussed now as a general-purpose technology (GPT). The 5G GPT has the ability to drive fundamental change across the entire global economy and will change all of our lives significantly in the years to come. 5G is also the true driver and foundation for the Internet of Things (IoT) where every device you can think of will have an interconnection to the Internet via 5G enabling them to send and receive data. 5G will also allow other exciting technologies like autonomous driving and AI to become truly available to the user marketplace. Finally, with the number of IoT devices connected to the Internet expected to reach into the billions in the near future, 5G end-users will exponentially increase in the near future, making 5G likely the most impactful GPT to date.

Telecommunication technologies are helping humanity by enabling real-time enterprise and ideation in platforms needed to resolve marketplace problems. As one example, artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality, and augmented reality were born out of foundational technologies like telematics, IoT, video, etc., for a myriad of reasons but are addressing the rise in healthcare costs we face today by providing scalable solutions in telemedicine. Merely augmenting regular office visits with video chat consultations, remote prescription monitoring, or streaming digital medical records, a stronger doctor-patient relationship is created. This leads to more engagement and better quality patient care resulting in lower overall healthcare costs because there is less dependency on medication and emergency room visits.

Yes, it is important for companies to continue to innovate both their organization and offerings because the telecommunications world is dynamic and, more importantly, we are at the beginning of another industrial revolution. 5G technology is creating advances and disruptive breakthroughs from immersive consumption and creation of multimedia to greater autonomy in robotics and automation. Companies will need to address this with continuous improvement in their organizational structure and the products and services they provide.

PTC’20 was the first Annual Conference that my company, Fortress Data Centers attended. However, I have been a great admirer of this specific conference for some time. As a company that has MMR data centers in Los Angeles and San Francisco, telecommunication carriers are my largest customers. I believe the intersection of new telecommunications information, latest developments in the industry, and potential peer contact interaction in one location will be extremely beneficial for growing relationships and revenues within my business.

He explains that compassion is empathy plus action and that has always resonated with me on both a professional and personal level. It is the keystone building block for establishing the right culture – where colleagues feel empowered to contribute, where anyone can ask the “why” question, and where you know your family is your bedrock.

I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy skiing and backpacking in the mountains. I have backpacked all over the Rockies and Sierras and have scaled Mount Whitney three times. I live in Los Angeles close to the beach but enjoy the mountains much more and will likely retire in Snowmass, Colorado.
