Since participating in the Young Scholar Program at PTC’14: New World, New Strategies, Aalok Mehta has been an active participant in the industry, working on completing his dissertation at University of Southern California while working as a senior policy advisor in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission.
Aalok Mehta has been interested in the allocation and usage of spectrum for some time. The paper he presented at PTC‘14 was titled Estimating the Value of Mobile Spectrum: A Novel Valuation Model Applied to the U.S.1755-1850 MHz Band. We are pleased that, in the time since PTC’14, he has been able to continue to have many rich and diverse experiences.
He took a two-year break from his doctoral program to take a position as a Program Examiner at the Office of Management and Budget focusing on spectrum, telecommunications, export control, international trade, and public media. He also served as a Policy Advisor at the White House National Economic Council with responsibility for technology, telecommunications, and media policy issues.
PTC is proud to have Aalok Mehta as an alumnus of the Young Scholar Program, and we wish him continued success in his ongoing research and career.
PTC is seeking Young Scholars for PTC‘18! If you know of a qualified Ph.D. student, or an individual holding a post-doctoral position, who should be considered for the Young Scholar Program at PTC’18, please share the Young Scholar Program with them, and encourage them to apply.
