IMPORTANT UPDATE – Given the global uncertainty and impact on next year’s Annual Conference, PTC has made the difficult decision to cancel PTC Awards 2021 for PTC’21: New Realities. We look forward to your participation in this awards program again at PTC’22.
The PTC Awards 2021 are intended to acknowledge the outstanding contributions being made to improve the ability of people and firms in the Pacific region to connect, communicate, collaborate, and experience an enhanced quality of life. The awards also serve to recognize outstanding achievements in the field of information and communications, as well as those aligned with PTC’s mission to connect people and organizations for a better world.

Winners will be announced at an all new awards event on Monday, 20 January 2020, from 17:00 to 19:00 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The PTC Awards 2020 are intended to acknowledge the outstanding contributions being made to improve the ability of people and firms in the Pacific region to connect, communicate, collaborate, and experience an enhanced quality of life.

PTC’s signature fundraising event, the Innovation Awards Gala, will honor the individuals and ideas that are moving the needle forward in the way of innovation.
Funds generated from the gala will support PTC’s mission and key community outreach initiatives including PTC Academy, PTC Broadband Reports, PTC Projects, PTC Young Scholar Program, and PTC Research Prize Awards – the Meheroo Jussawalla Research Prize Award and the Yale M. Braunstein Student Prize Award.
The 2019 PTC Innovation Awards Gala will be an exquisite night that showcases the individuals and companies and the excellence they are achieving in the ICT industry.

Eligibility requirements: Any company, organization, institution, or individual (where applicable) that is based in the Pacific region or does business in the Pacific region may submit an entry for consideration. Categories marked with an asterisk (*) are open to individuals.
Outstanding Satellite Company—such as those offering LEO, MEO, or GEO services; launch services; VSAT terminals; etc.
Outstanding Submarine Company—such as subsea cable providers; cable landing stations; subsea communications components; etc.
Outstanding Wireless Company—such as 4G or 5G services; cellular handsets or IoT devices; base stations; tower providers; etc.
Outstanding Wireline Company—such as copper, fiber, or cable-based services; core or edge routers; optical add-drop multiplexers; etc.
Outstanding Applications Company—for “over-the-top” applications and services built on global networks, such as social media and networking; content management, distribution, or streaming video; messaging; cybersecurity; software or platform as a service; etc.
Outstanding Cloud, Data Center, or Interconnection Company—for products and services complementary to wireline, wireless, satellite, and subsea networks, such as infrastructure as a service; managed services; data centers, colocation and interconnection; facilities design and construction; etc.
Outstanding Customer-Facing Innovation—through technology innovation or business model innovation, such as handset designs; mobile broadband displays; facilities sharing; user interfaces; pricing plans; contract terms; retail or wholesale customer experience; etc.
Outstanding Internal Transformation—such as core network consolidation or transformation; migration to the cloud; billing or customer relationship management systems consolidation or implementation; quality initiatives; organization restructuring; process reengineering; etc.
Outstanding Network Intelligence and Management Company—for software (or hardware) capabilities that ensure the flexibility and reliability of today’s and tomorrow’s networks, such as software-defined networks (SDN); software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN); network functions virtualization (NFV); network monitoring and management; etc.
Outstanding Diversity and Inclusion Program and Results—developing, implementing and achieving diversity and inclusion initiatives and results that help affirmatively mirror the world’s diversity within an ICT company or organization, or that help customers and communities improve fairness, justice, and equal treatment.
Outstanding Ecosystem Collaboration—developing and implementing ICT solutions benefiting the region through joint ventures or partnerships; consortia; non-governmental or multinational organizations; standards organizations; etc.
Outstanding ICT Education or Research Provider—helping our understanding of the information and communications industry, shifting customer needs, or emerging technologies such as a university curriculum or research program; an online course; research, financial, or industry analyst firm; etc.
Outstanding Legal, Policy, or Regulatory Organization—helping to foster global connectivity through regulatory policy; international law or policies; other legal or regulatory actions; etc.
Outstanding Quality of Life Improvement—the creation and contribution to ICT initiatives that improve the quality of life, such as network-based solutions for healthcare; agriculture and food distribution; improvements to safety, privacy, and security; bridging the digital divide and increasing digital inclusion; etc.
Outstanding CEO*—for outstanding achievement by a CEO or Chairman in attaining corporate results (market share, revenue and profitability, employee and customer satisfaction, community and sustainability) while also supporting the mission and vision of PTC.
Outstanding Female Executive*—for outstanding achievement by a female executive in corporate results while also supporting the mission and vision of PTC.
Outstanding Pacific Islands Achievement—for outstanding achievement for any company or individual based specifically in the smaller Pacific islands (e.g., Hawaii, Vanuatu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea), but excluding the larger islands or archipelagos (e.g., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines).
Criteria
The following four criteria apply to each of the categories.
Why is this nominated entity deserving of an award?
Describe key aspects of the company, innovation, organization, consortium, ecosystem, or leader; the specific contribution made by the organization or individual; the competitive or market context; the prior art, the nature of the transformation, customer value created, etc.
What quantifiable results have been achieved?
This might be measured in terms of revenues, profits, subscribers, ARPU, EBITDA, monthly average users, number of students or employees trained, cycle time reduction, patents issued, interconnection bandwidth, peak data rates, customer satisfaction metrics, employee satisfaction metrics, churn, sites deployed, market share, etc.
What has the qualitative impact been?
For example, ameliorating the digital divide, reaching the unconnected, increased user / subscriber, wholesale, or other end-customer benefits, customer testimonials, community contributions, workflow or journey reengineering, organization restructuring including internal, mergers or acquisitions, divestitures, etc.
How does the nominated entity’s work conform to PTC’s vision and mission?
PTC’s vision is a better world where people and organizations are connected through the innovative use of information and communication technologies. PTC’s mission is to advance the ethical development and use of information and communication technologies through collaboration, knowledge, and outreach.

- Before you click on “Start new entry” you will need to go to your email and click on the verification link (in an email from the PTC Awards 2020). You may need to refresh the web page.
- Once you begin the entry process, you can “Save + close” your entry and go back to edit it later.
- Once you submit an entry, you can go back into the system at any time to make changes – up until the entry deadline of 4 October 2019 at 23:59 (HST).
